When Quarterbacks Began To Thrive In The NFL

In 2015 the New York Times reported, “By Many Measures, It’s a Quarterbacks’ League,”  when the number of quarters passing for thirty or more touchdowns almost doubled in one season: From five in seasons 2010 thru 2013 to nine in 2014 and went up to eleven in 2015. Actual game-time enforcement of NFL rules based on the subjectivity of individual referees enforcing NFL rules has an added level of severity to what has been done to the sport and when defenses decide not to make sacking the quarterback central to their strategies due to rules that require more coverage in the secondary.
